I get multiple ssl certificate verification errors which did not occur with the free version. No idea how to fix this problem.

Sorry my contract ended and I did not have time to pursue it. I am guessing the cert issue might be due to security set up on our side, but I no longer have the details because I am working for the company anymore. I did find that the free version was very useful for development but eventually I think the Pro version will be needed by them.
